Baby Food Day 54- Navy Beans!

Shopping List

-15.5 oz can navy beans

-bananas and unsweetened applesauce if you don’t have any or if you’re out of baby food cubes in your freezer

Meal Plan

-about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of navy bean puree at one meal

-about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of any other baby food (bananas, avocado, unsweetened applesauce, green beans, butternut squash, oatmeal or any combination of those and other foods Baby already knows, etc. ) at the other two meals

-chest milk/formula as usual

Of course this can be done with the traditional method of cooking beans, but I’m a tired cook and this does the job. Rinse the beans off in the sink.
Pour the navy beans into your personal blender and add a little bit of olive oil, if you’d like. The olive oil adds a bit of savory to the flavor, but it isn’t necessary.
Add water to about half the height of the beans.
After blending, it looks a little like runny hummus and tastes a bit like a bland version of it. It’s definitely edible and would probably taste pretty good with pretzels.
I left some navy beans in the blender to add unsweetened applesauce to it, in case the hungry mouth this was intended for didn’t like navy beans by themselves.
Hopefully, Baby will like at least one of these versions. Please remember, these are beans and they do to Baby what they do to you. Be ready!
