Romp, expedition, adventure, odyssey, quest. Along the way, maybe I’ll find better words to describe my life. My days are filled with the work of raising children, serving a retired canine racing queen, trying to run when my body allows it, hugging my husband, choosing between board games, books, and sleep, and never being truly bored.
The reality is that sometimes, I’m just not up for keeping up with my house. I have plastic silverware to assist me. I’m aware that plastic isn’t exactly good for the environment, but I’m also aware that I alone can’t fix our global issues with pollution. I can do what I’m able to make changes in my own life that help my family and me. Sometimes, this looks like washing dishes every day and not using plastic. Other times, it looks like resting and recuperating and not rushing from room to room to try and keep things perfect. I’m not perfect, and I shouldn’t expect my silverware drawer to be either. I can’t save the world, but I can try to save me.
